Celtic vs Aberdeen team news revealed: Brendan Rodgers makes 6 changes with two big calls in defence
Celtic team news for their Premier Sports Cup semi-final has been confirmed.
The Celtic team to face Aberdeen in their Premier Sports Cup semi-final has been confirmed.
Brendan Rodgers makes changes to the team that beat Dundee. Captain Callum McGregor returns to the XI ahead of Luke McCowan and Reo Hatate comes in for Paulo Bernardo. There’s two big decisions made in the defensive area, with regulars Liam Scales and Greg Taylor not in the XI.
Instead, it is two summer signings that take their place, Auston Trusty in centre-half and Alex Valle in left-back.
Speaking prior to the game, McGregor said: “You’re kicking every ball on the sideline, just desperate to get back out there, but I’m feeling good. I’d much rather be in the middle of it and be involved. Any footballer will tell you that, it’s the worst thing when you have to watch on.
“The lads done great and came out with maximum points, so they were two strong performances. Now it’s a change of competition tomorrow which requires our full focus.
“Aberdeen are going well, we’re going well, so it should be a good game to watch and a good game to play in. We know that we have to bring our maximum level to make sure we’re in the final."
