Ex-Rangers star wanted by PL promotion hopefuls

Former Ibrox star Ryan Kent is still without a club following his departure from Fenerbahçe in October. After struggling to find his feet in Turkey, both player and club mutually agreed to terminate his contract. Now, the 27-year-old is searching for his next opportunity and recent reports have claimed Rangers have shown interest in re-signing Kent, but Leeds United are also in the picture.

Pundit and ex-Leeds star Carlton Palmer has weighed in on Kent’s current situation, which also involves EFL League One side Leyton Orient. After signing for Rangers from Liverpool, Kent made 218 appearances for the Light Blues and contributed 33 goals and 56 assists along the way. Amid the speculation over his next club, Palmer has predicted a potential Leeds move to be a positive one.

“He joined on a free from Rangers in 2023 and fell out of favour quickly. Apparently, Leeds United are a club looking at Kent. I've always said you've got to be careful with free transfers and players who are out of contract, they're out of contract for a reason. But I think with Kent, this may well be a good move for Leeds — certainly an ambitious move for Leyton Orient,” he told Football League World.

“Apparently there's some interest from Steven Gerrard's Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, he's out of contract so that makes him very appealing and he's still got some time at 27.”

Celtic loanee awarded for impressive form

Celtic defender Dane Murray has hit the ground running at loan club Queen’s Park and has been honoured for his impressive start to the season. The 21-year-old has played every minute of Scottish Championship action so far this season, serving as a commanding presence in the backline.

Queen’s Park are currently fourth in the table and won three of their five fixtures across all competitions during October. Murray has been named the Buck's Bar Southside Player of the Month for his efforts, which saw him contribute to two clean sheets.

“It’s great to be recognised by the supporters in this manner,” Murray told the club’s website. “I’ve really enjoyed my time at the club so far and it has been great to come in and play my part on a regular basis. Our good start to the season has very much been a team effort and while it is nice to win an award like this, the focus is on continuing to develop as a squad as the season progresses.”
