Celtic close in on triple Chelsea transfer raid as medical scheduled and 'teenage sensation' eyed by Hoops

Celtic could sign as many as three players from Chelsea before the end of the transfer window.

Celtic could launch a triple raid on Chelsea before the end of transfer window.

Landon Emenalo, Shim Mheuka and Kendry Paez are all reportedly players who have been put to the Premiership champions. England’s transfer window shuts on Tuesday night but Scotland’s remains open until Thursday which allows Martin O’Neill’s side the chance to sign more player prior to Wednesday’s European squad deadline.

That’s at around 11pm prior to the Scottish window shutting. Mheuka could bolster the forward line at Parkhead and Sky Sports claim: “Celtic are closing in on the signing of Chelsea striker Shim Mheuka.

Who are Celtic signing from Chelsea?

“It’s understood the England U19 international is undergoing a medical in London today, ahead of a possible loan move to the Scottish champions. Sky Sports News revealed last month that Mheuka, 18, had agreed terms on a new deal with Chelsea until the summer of 2033.”

Winger Paez meanwhile was announced as a Chelsea player in 2023 but would not join until two years later when he turned 18 as they pounced on his high-value potential. He’s since been loaned to Strasbourg and River Plate but Celtic or Blackburn Rovers might come next.

Transfer journalist Alan Nixon said: “Chelsea are willing to send Ecuador superstar winger Kendry Paez out on loan for games. The teenage sensation was in France with Strasbourg and River Plate last season and will be given another chance to play a campaign elsewhere. Paez has been offered to Blackburn Rovers and Scottish giants Celtic have also been alerted among others.”

What Chelsea player has visited Celtic?

Left-back Emenalo visited Lennoxtown earlier this month to scope out a move to the Premiership champions. It was reported by CeltsAreHere: “CeltsAreHere understands Landon Emenalo suffered a knock in training with Chelsea and, once that issue is resolved, he will join Celtic on loan with no option to buy. The decision to have no purchase option is down to how highly Chelsea and Xabi Alonso rate the youngster.

“The knock is not thought to be serious, with the expectation that he will be back available in the short term. Celtic are therefore not concerned that the issue will derail the loan move. Celtic supporters may look at Emenalo and have concerns over the 18-year-old’s lack of consistent first-team game time, but Chelsea view him as a major talent who is destined to start for the Blues one day, and that should excite Hoops fans.

“The England Under-18 international has impressed Chelsea coaches in recent years, including Mauricio Pochettino when he was 15 and, more recently, Enzo Maresca, with the now Man City boss a huge admirer of Emenalo. The loan signing of Emenalo is viewed as a real coup behind the scenes, and the player himself is set to provide brilliant competition for Kieran Tierney, with the Scotland international’s minutes consistently managed.”
