Celtic won't 'entertain' January bids for star amid transfer speculation as potential exit timeline outlined
Defender has been the subject of transfer speculation
Celtic reportedly wont ‘entertain’ any transfer bids for defender Cameron Carter-Vickers in January - and are much more likely to sell him in the summer.
Since signing for Tottenham in 2022, the 28-year old has been a mainstay at the back for Celtic and when fit, remains manager Martin O’Neill’s first choice defender. Over the past four years, Carter-Vickers has been the subject of transfer interest back to the English Premier League, however nothing has came to fruition as yet.
The American has made 11 appearances so far this season. The most recent of which was against Hibs in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Easter Road, where he made his return from injury after four games on the sideline. As he now looks to get back to full match-sharpness, he’ll be an important player for O’Neill going forward. For this reason, according to Football Insider, Celtic will have no plans to sell him in January.

Celtic won’t ‘entertain’ Carter-Vickers bids in January
Transfer expert Pete O’Rourke said: "There's been talk about Carter-Vickers leaving Celtic for a while now. Obviously he has done very well during his time at Celtic and he has become a key man in that defence under Martin O'Neill.
“I don't see anything happening in January, he's still got a key role to play for Martin O'Neill's side and will be important for them this season. Celtic have no plans to weaken their squad mid-way through the season by letting an important player like Carter-Vickers go, so they're not going to entertain that one.”
Overall, Carter-Vickers has played over 150 games for the Hoops and has five Scottish titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups to his name. As their most experienced defender, selling midway through the season would be a risk, as Celtic would then need to scramble for a suitable replacement.

Potential Carter-Vickers exit timeline revealed
The defender is under contract at Parkhead until the summer of 2029 and while still in his twenties, Celtic could still rack up a respectable fee. However, O’Rourke reckons if is to depart, it will more than likely be in the summer.
He continued: "But come next summer then there might be an opportunity for the player to move away, and Celtic might be more open to offers for him. That would then, obviously, give Celtic time to seek a suitable replacement for the American as well to come in and fill that space he would leave."
