English League One club respond to Celtic transfer interest in star men as ace's stances made crystal clear

Celtic have the chance to bring in some new faces when the summer transfer window opens up for business

Plymouth Argyle boss Tom Cleverley has insisted Celtic-linked Lorent Tolaj and Bim Pepple are happy at Home Park. The Hoops have been linked with both players recently. They have the chance to bring in some new faces this summer.

The Glasgow giants are sat in 3rd place in the Scottish Premiership table. They find themselves behind Hearts and Rangers right now in the title race. Martin O’Neil’s men won 1-0 away at Stuttgart in the Europa League last time out.

Plymouth manager Cleverley has said, as per a report by PlymouthLive: "For as long as they are Argyle players and they are playing with that badge on their chest they are giving everything for this club. They love playing for this club. It's rightly so they should be recognised for what they are doing, and at this level your players will always be linked with clubs in higher leagues or different European leagues.

"They have both got good mentalities to have tunnel vision. They know their job. They have got high ambitions both individually and collectively at this football club, and neither of them have got any appetite to leave the football club."

He added: "Their work every day shows that they are fully invested. That's all the players. Yes, they are two of the ones that are really shining at the minute, and that's usual with the goalscorers to get more of the press. They are all showing really good application at the minute and I'm delighted for them."

Who are Plymouth Argyle duo Lorent Tolaj and Bim Pepple amid Celtic links?

Plymouth signed Tolaj last summer following their relegation from the Championship. He was snapped up by the Pilgrims to boost their attacking department and he has since become one of their key players. The striker has scored 19 goals in 32 games in all competitions this season, 14 of which have come in the league.

The 24-year-old left Port Vale to take on a new challenge in Devon and he hasn’t looked back since. The Switzerland-born man moved over to England back in 2018. He has had spells at Brighton and Hove Albion and Aldershot Town in the past.

Like Tolaj, Pepple also joined Plymouth last year. He has found the net on eight occasions under Cleverley’s guidance. They could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line though.

The 23-year-old was on the books at Luton Town from 2022 up until his switch to his current club. He never played for the first-team of the Hatters though. Instead, he was shipped out on loan away from Kenilworth Road to Grimsby Town, Bromley, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Southend United and Chesterfield to get some experience under his belt.
