Hide AdOscar Cortes’ future at Rangers ‘up in the air’
Oscar Cortes’ status as a long term member of the Rangers squad is currently on a knife edge, due to his ongoing injury woes and bouts of poor form for the Light Blues.
This is according to Colombian outlet Caracol Radio. Cortes is currently at the club on loan from RC Lens, with an option to buy clause included in his contract. While Rangers’ ultimate stance on whether they will bring Cortes on board permanently or not is unknown, it appears to be unlikely at this stage.
So far this season, the 20 year old has made just three appearances in all competitions for the Light Blues, failing to score any goals or notch up any assists along the way. Despite this, his contract at Lens will not run out until 2028 - so there is no danger of him becoming a free agent.

Hide AdCeltic put forth a solid display in the Champions League last night when they picked up a dogged 0-0 draw against Atalanta - it was a performance that their European rivals will have taken notice of.
Speaking to the press ahead of their game against the Bhoys, Gulasci said: “It won't be easy at Celtic. We know what the atmosphere is like there. It's difficult for an away team to survive there. But our goal is to get the three points in two weeks. We didn't get off to a good start. We had three difficult opponents, but if you look at the games, we could certainly have taken a few points.”
Meanwhile, Leipzig captain Will Orban said: "At the moment we're lacking consistency in both penalty areas and that cost us the win against a top team like Liverpool. In attack, not only was there a lack of penetration, but also a lack of self-confidence. The good thing is that you still have five games left. You can still achieve anything.
"It's starting to get a bit unlikely for direct qualification. But we can still get into the play-offs - and that's what we want to achieve. Of course we're not satisfied with the three defeats. But we're currently lacking a little something to beat the top opponents.”
