Motherwell defensive pair Declan Gallagher and Stephen O’Donnell starred for Scotland as they battled past Israel in a dramatic penalty shootout at Hampden Park last Thursday night.

The Fir Park duo helped the Scots to a hard fought 0-0 draw after extra time in the sides’ Euro 2020 semi-final playoff clash.

Scotland prevailed 5-3 in the resultant shootout, with keeper David Marshall saving an Israeli spot kick before Kenny McLean netted the winner.

The Scots now visit Serbia in the playoff final on Thursday, November 12, with the winner qualifying for next summer’s finals.

Scotland last qualified for a major tournament at the 1998 World Cup in France.
