How to watch Rangers vs West Ham: Live stream, kick off time and team news for Battle of Britain friendly

Everything you need to know about Rangers’ final pre-season friendly clash

Rangers will return to Ibrox on Sunday afternoon to take on English outfit West Ham United in a pre-season friendly.

The match will be the last chance for manager Derek McInnes to experiment with his squad or make any tactical adjustments before their Scottish Premiership campaign gets underway against Dundee United at Tannadice on July 31. It will also perhaps be a chance for the Ibrox faithful to see Vanja Dragojevic since he became their seventh signing of the summer, as the club enlisted him from Partizan Belgrade.

In their last outing, the Light Blues sneaked over the line 2-1 against Ligue 2 outfit Saint-Etienne. In West Ham, they will once again be facing second tier opposition after they were relegated from the Premier League last season, but with the likes of winger Jarrod Bowen and fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka still in their ranks, the quality of opposition has increased significantly. What is the Rangers team news ahead of West Ham?

New boy Dragojevic should be instantly within selection contention following his move. Connor Barron hasn’t been involved in any of Rangers’ pre-season encounters through a knee injury. While he could make the bench for the West Ham clash, the manager isn’t likely to take any risks in a fixture of a friendly nature. Defender John Souttar and striker Danilo won’t be featuring as they prepare to leave the club. New midfielder Cammy Devlin earned man of the match after coming on as a substitute against Saint-Etienne and may well have put himself in starting contention. Dujon Sterling was an unused sub on Wednesday night but should play a part against the Irons.

What have Rangers said ahead of the West Ham clash?

After the Saint Etienne win, McInnes said Rangers were looking for a couple of new bodies before the West Ham clash, meaning Gers fans could be expecting another signing on top of Dragojevic this weekend. He said: “I think the recruitment team have been really aggressive and we’re clear in what we’re trying to do in terms of the positions we’ve identified. It’s clear for me we need a bit more in the wider areas and we could do with another defender as well.

“So we’re not overly blessed with defenders at the minute. We are looking quite close to completing one or two things. I know I said I’d try to get one or two done for tonight. I think we hit the post with one or two but we’re still close. I certainly think it’ll be at least two in for Sunday’s game and hopefully another one next week. You want ideally everybody in as quickly as possible but sometimes you’ve got to be patient as well.”
