Rangers seeking exits for trio before end of summer window as one star commits transfer U-turn
Rangers could be busy before the transfer deadline in terms of outgoings.
Rangers could look to shift on three players at Ibrox before the end of the transfer window.
The Light Blues have had a busy summer shopping season, and while incoming business is beginnign to wind down ahead of the September 3 deadline, outgoings may not have ceased yet. Connor Barron has been linked with a move all summer as the former Aberdeen midfielder struggles to make inroads towards Derek McInnes’ starting core but he has turned down a move to Hannover 96 in Germany.
He is keen to fight for his place in Govan and instead is set to remain at Rangers for the time being. That might not be the case for three of his teammates, John Souttar, Lyall Cameron and Bojan Miovski, all of which are players the Light Blues are seeking to move on. Souttar has options in America but England could be an option for him still while that window remains open. Dundee United are poised to sign Cameron on loan in a controversial move, having started his career at city rivals Dundee, and Turkish options aren’t appealing much to Miovski.
Who could leave Rangers before deadline day?
Business must be done by Thursday in terms of incomings and Rangers face Falkirk midweek as they look to build on a Premiership win at Aberdeen. It’s claimed in the Daily Record: “Connor Barron has turned down a loan move to Hannover 96. The Bundesliga 2 side are among a number of clubs who have tabled proposals for the Rangers midfielder in recent days.
“The offers were not financially viable for the Light Blues or were turned down by the player. Hannover came in with a loan with an option. Barron, however, has decided to stay and fight for his place under Derek McInnes. Rangers have a number of fringe players they are trying to move out before the deadline.
“Oxford United were interested in Lyall Cameron, but Record Sport broke the story that he looks likely to join Dundee United on-loan for the season. Bojan Miovski is another who is available but Rangers want more than the fee they paid to get him from Girona.
“It also remains to be seen if defender John Souttar will move on before the close of the English window. He has interest down south but also has options in Major League Soccer, where the window is open later.”
