Rangers target 'a couple more' transfer moves as exits expected in frantic end to summer window
Ibrox side have to conclude business by Wednesday’s transfer market deadline
Rangers boss Derek McInnes has told supporters to expect ‘one or two’ outgoing transfer while claiming they’re still working on a ‘couple’ of arrivals.
A total of 12 new faces faces have entered the door at Ibrox this season, but the club’s recent failings prove few have hit the ground running. The Light Blues’ European campaign is over already after their midweek defeat to Czech side Jablonec in the Conference League play-off qualifier as they now return to domestic action.
Next up for McInnes is a trip to his former club Aberdeen on Sunday where they seek their first league win of the season. The Rangers boss confirmed new £8.5m Korean winger Kim Min-su will be available at Pittodrie. He is also looking to enlist a few more bodies before 5pm on Wednesday, when the Scottish transfer market closes.

Rangers seek to ‘bring a couple more in’
Ahead of Sunday’s Premiership grudge match, the manager told Sky Sports: “We've got Min-su in. Obviously, we'll get him ready for a game on Sunday, which is another young, talented player who has got real high potential and someone we think has got the skill set to help the team - and we're working hard to try and bring a couple more in if we can.”
Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy has been linked with an Ibrox move up worth to £9.5m. The fee would make the Venezuelan the second most expensive Rangers transfer in history behind only former forward Tore Andre Flo. The 22-year became a Light Blues transfer target after current marksman Youssef Chermiti suffered an ACL injury which will see him sidelined for a ‘significant period of time’.

Potential outgoings breeds Ibrox ‘uncertainty’
Going the other way, Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin has been linked with a move elsewhere, with clubs across Europe reportedly interested. Midfielders Connor Barron and Lyall Cameron and defenders John Souttar and Clinton Nsiala have been told they can leave the club, along with winger Ross McCausland. McInnes admits there will be a few more exits before Wednesday and that he’s actually looking forward to the window closing to help stabilise his squad.
He continued: “There probably will be one or two leaving, as you can probably guess. So, like I say, I always think this time of the season, there is that wee bit of uncertainty. Managers are always trying to navigate that - and I think once the window closes, everything becomes a bit calmer. I think there's a lot of uncertainty at the minute, as it normally happens before a transfer window. But even more so at this club at the minute, a lot of people maybe in's and out's and all the rest of it. We just want the window to close so we get that stability.”
