The SPFL has confirmed several changes to upcoming fixtures in the Scottish Premiership.

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has confirmed a number of changes to the upcoming 2024/25 Scottish Premiership fixture list. Following the release of the UEFA competition schedule, a total of 13 matches in Scotland’s top flight have been moved to Sundays, while broadcast selections have also been made for upcoming weekends in September and October.

Rangers vs Hibs will be shown live on Sky Sports on Sunday, September 29th, while Ross County vs Celtic will be aired on Sunday, October 6th with both kick-offs scheduled for 12pm.

St Johnstone’s upcoming clashes with both Glasgow sides are also due to be broadcast live, this time on Premier Sports. The Celtic game will be shown on Saturday, September 28th, and the Rangers clash on Sunday, October 6th. The latter has been moved due to the Gers competing with Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday, October 3rd. The St Johnstone clash now falls on the same day as the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow and will kick-off at 8pm.

SPFL Chief Operating Officer Calum Beattie commented on the fixture movement after ‘extensive talks’ with the two clubs, Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council and the race organisers.

“I would like to place on record my thanks to the two clubs and all other stakeholders for their assistance throughout this process to enable the Rangers v St Johnstone match to take place on its scheduled weekend.

“The congested nature of the fixture list, compounded by the additional UEFA matchdays this season, is not without its challenges. We appreciate this is an unusual fixture slot for an SPFL match but our options were very limited.”
