Switch in time for Thistle tie

Partick Thistle's opening Betfred Cup game against Airdrieonians has been brought forward.

The tie will now be played at the Excelsior Stadium on Friday, July 15, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

It was originally scheduled for Saturday, July 16, but has been switched at the request of both clubs.

Thistle’s other Betfred fixtures are at home to Queen of the South on Saturday, July 23, away to Stenhousemuir on Tuesday, July 26, and at home to Queen’s Park on Saturday, July 30.

Meanwhile Thistle’s under-20 side will play in the revamped Challenge Cup which will also include Highland and Lowland League sides plus teams from Northern Ireland and Wales.
