Gigs in Glasgow: Iggy Pop announces Glasgow summer concert in 2025
Iggy Pop will make a return to Glasgow after more than 20 years
Iggy Pop is set to make a long-awaited return to Glasgow next year as The Godfather of Punk has announced a live performance at the city’s O2 Academy.
With a career spanning over five decades, Iggy Pop remains a vital force in music, bringing his fierce originality and boundary-pushing performances to this rare Glasgow date.
The 77-year-old American musician will perform in the Southside of the city on Tuesday 3 June 2025 and will be joined by special guests. Pop has a strong connection to Glasgow which stretches back over 45 years when he first performed at The Apollo on Renfield Street in 1979.
He is also a member of the Barrowland Hall of Fame which he was inducted into back in 2016 along with The Ramones - two performers which really caught the imagination of the Barrowland crowd.

His most recent performance in Glasgow came over two decades ago when he was one of the headliners at Download Festival which was held at Glasgow Green in 2004.
Fans can look forward to an evening that celebrates Iggy’s influential legacy, from his work with The Stooges to his acclaimed solo career. Delivering the raw power and visceral sound that defines his music. Backed by a dynamic band of celebrated collaborators, this show is set to capture the full range of Iggy’s enduring and innovative artistry.
Tickets for Iggy Pop at the O2 Academy will go on sale at 9am on Friday 8 November here.
