The best emerging Glaswegian bands and artists gigging in Glasgow in 2024
Since the city emerged from lockdown, Glasgow has seen a renaissance in live music across nearly all genres - see a random band at King Tut's or McChuills on any given night and you'll know just how much the quality of the Glaswegian music scene has risen in the last few years.
That's why today we wanted to look at the very best new up and coming artists in Glasgow, the bands that very well could be the next thing, or failing that, your next favourite band.
Featuring members from both APNA and Mystic Heights - we had to check out Lily Grace & the String Merchants when they supported APNA at Audio last year. Despite being a six-piece in such a small venue - they sounded incredible, delicate, and hard when they needed to - it was a great set. @lilygracemrchnts | @rachel__roams
22. Gelatine
I first saw Gelatine play alongside Middle Class Guilt & Fat Black Cats at Radio CamGlen in Rutherglen last year - right then and there I knew I'd need to follow these fellas. To be honest, they rocked my damn socks off. Keep an eye out for them - they're one of my favourite bands in Glasgow right now. @gelatineband | Contributed
23. APNA
Another Lanarkshire band (both North and South, cross-community!) - APNA represents the best indie rock music coming out of Glasgow's music scene right now. Their debut album, A Perfect New Age, represents years of progress and constant work - we've watched this band grow from little more than a concept to what they are now - we can't wait to watch them grow even more. @APNA_Songs | APNA
24. JusHarry
Inspired by my love of Bemz, I decided to seek out more Glasgow hip-hop artists and rappers - that's when I found JusHarry, who's been making major waves through 2023. The Glasgow artist won the Hip-Hop act of the year at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards last year, and is truly unique in the genre, focusing on 'heartfelt rap', a genuine stream of conciousness style of lyricism mixed with influences from R&B, Hip-Hop, and rap. Listen to his new track, 'Taking Trips', you won't regret it. | Contributed
