Liam Smillie joined GlasgowWorld in September of 2022, after a stint in local news through the West Lothian Courier - following on from a freelance career that spanned across several local, national, and digital titles.
His words have appeared in The Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News, Scottish Daily Record, Scottish Sun, West Lothian Courier, and a range of other national, local, and digital publications.
The young journalist has also spent time working on projects for Bloomberg, The Guardian Foundation, and the McConnell International Foundation.
Liam Smillie edited and published the digital magazine Tales from Lockdown in 2020 - winning the best new-comer award at the Student Publication Award in 2021.

The 23-year-old journalist graduated with first-class honours from the University of Stirling in 2021.
