5. John Tyson
John Tyson was born in Partick in 1928 and mapped previously unexplored areas of the Himalayas. He was also a distinguished teacher who held posts across England and Nepal.
6. Jimmy McGill
Former Arsenal, Hull City and Huddersfield Town midfielder Jimmy McGill was born in Partick and started out at Possilpark FC before joining the Gunners.
7. Tosh McKinlay
Former Celtic defender and Scotland internationalist Tosh McKinley was brought up in Partick having been an outstanding footballer at St Peter's Boys Primary and St Thomas Aquinas where he won multiple trophies.
8. Liz Cameron
Former Glasgow Lord Provost Liz Cameron was born in Partick and was a student at the nearby University of Glasgow. Cameron was Lord Provost of Glasgow for four years.
