Today we’re explaining why the Southside is our favourite place to live in Glasgow - and why it blows the West End out of the water.
Newlands was named as one of the best places to live in the UK in a release by The Sunday Times, earlier this year, while Shawlands was named one of the coolest neighbourhoods by Time Out magazine.
Newlands SNP councillor Sean Ferguson just yesterday said the “south side is fast eclipsing the west end as the city’s best area to live and socialise in”.
Take a look below as we explain why the Southside is the best place to live in Glasgow.

5. Arts
The Southside is full of artists of all different skillsets, styles, and level of experience. Whether you're a life-long artist or an aspiring one, there's plenty of spaces for you. 6. Cheaper housing
The West End has long been overpriced for the 'buzz' of the area - compare that to Southside where you've got all the creature comforts of the West End and more - and you'll see that you'll get a lot more bang for your buck. That being said, prices have been rising really quickly in the Southside, particularly in Shawlands and Strathbungo. | Contributed Photo: Michal Klajban

7. People
No matter where you go in Glasgow, you'll always be able to meet a friendly face. That being said we find the Southside a much more welcoming neighbourhood than the West End - evidenced in the regular community events, there's nowhere easier to integrate in Glasgow than in the Southside in our opinion. | Supplied

8. House prices
While house prices are steadily rising across the Southside - they're still a lot cheaper than the prestigious West End. | Contributed
