Almost £27 million has been awarded to Glasgow City Council to regenerate local communities, business and high streets as the city continues to recover from Covid-19. The money, which is part of the UK Government’s shared fund, has been welcomed by Conservative group leader Thomas Kerr who said he was “delighted” to back this development.

Bin lorry drivers have been pulled from their usual routes to drive children to school after a transport provider was unable to fulfil school bus contracts for a local authority. North Lanarkshire Council contacted parents to say SPT were “unable to organise transport on a range of routes for the start of the new session”.
