UEFA make official decision ahead of Nice vs Rangers Europa League clash
Who will referee Nice vs Rangers in the Europa League?
Rangers are gearing up for a Europa League clash with Ligue 1 outfit Nice on Thursday, November 28. Today, we’ll look at who the chosen officials to oversee the contest will be.
So far this season, Rangers have won two of their Europa League outings, drawing one and losing the other. As things stand, the only team who have beaten the Light Blues in the league stage are Lyon, who defeated Philippe Clement’s men by a score of 4-1 at the Ibrox Stadium.
They are 10th in the Europa League table, meaning that they will qualify for the playoff round if they can maintain their position over the next two matches.
Meanwhile, Nice sit 31st in the table, meaning they will crash out at the first hurdle of the competition if they cannot ascend up to at least 24th. They have yet to win a game in the Europa League this season, drawing two and losing two.
Domestically, Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table, having picked up 23 points from 12 games - Nice, on the other hand, are 5th in Ligue 1 with 20 points.
Who are the officials chosen to referee Nice vs Rangers in the Europa League?
The senior official for the game between Nice and Rangers in the Europa League is Ricardo de Burgos. Primarily a La Liga referee, he has overseen nine games across all competitions this season - seven in La Liga, one in the Europa League and one in the Nations League. During this time, he has dished out 24 yellow cards and one red card.
Iker De Francisco and Alfredo Rodriguez Moreno will be De Burgos’ assistant referees for the evening, with José Luis Munuera selected as the fourth official. Guillermo Cuadra will be the senior VAR official, with Alejandro Hernández as his assistant.
