Rangers interested in Sheffield United star despite Blades reluctancy to sell as 'significant offer' required
Leicester City are also exploring the possibility of a transfer for the attacker
Rangers have reportedly expressed ‘interest’ in Sheffield United striker Ryan One - however the Blades have given no indication that he’s up for sale.
The Scotland Under-21 international is also being looked at by former Rangers boss Russell Martin at his new club Leicester City despite Sheffield United’s stance. One has scored once in 22 appearance since leaving Hamilton Academical for Bramall Lane in 2023. The 20-year old spent the second half of last season on loan at Lincoln City, where his goals helped them earn promotion to the Championship.
Upon his return to South Yorkshire, veteran manager Chris Wilder, whose just put pen to paper on a contract extension until 2028, is hoping to keep the striker. However with interest only increasing, the Blades may be forced to sell if the price is right.

Rangers interested in ‘sought after’ striker
Prominent transfer reporter Ben Jacobs confirmed via X that interest in One was circulating from both sides of the border. He claimed: “Understand Leicester City and Rangers are both showing an interest in Sheffield United forward Ryan Oné.”
Meanwhile Sky Sports confirmed the Blades’ stance on a potential outgoing transfer. They said: “Sheffield United do not wish to sell in-demand striker Ryan Oné this summer. It would take a significant offer for the Blades to reconsider their position and enter into negotiations for the 20-year-old.”
Born and bred in Coatbridge, One came through the ranks at Hamilton and was given his first chance in the first team at the age of 16 under former boss John Rankin. He’s subsequently featured for Scotland at almost every youth level, which could be a factor in Rangers’ interest, as new boss Derek McInnes continues to bed in a Scottish core of players.

Rangers target star with huge ‘potential’
Upon putting pen to paper on his new Blades deal in 2024, Sheffield United academy Derek Geary was delighted One committed his future to the club. He said via the Yorkshire Post: “We are delighted Ryan has committed to a long-term deal with us.
“He's had a lot of good development over the last 10 months and I credit Mickey Collins, Danny Cadamarteri and the coaching staff for that. He's still very young but has all the potential to go to the highest level. His attitude, character and potential is very much a Sheffield United player and we are delighted to have him.”
