Recently relegated Sheffield United had also registered their interest in signing the defender on loan last summer. It’s believed the Gunners were keen to keep hold of the teenager, but the offer of a new contract was rejected by the player.

Confirming his exit on social media, Walters posted a farewell message to Arsenal fans last month as he looks for more regular first-team football elsewhere. He wrote: “Thank you to everyone that’s made this part of my career special. It’s been a pleasure playing for this club and I wish you all the best for the future.”
First-team stars Declan Rice and William Saliba passed on their well wishes to the England youth international, who has also spent time in Tottenham Hotspur’s academy system. He has represented the Three Lions at both U18s and U19s level but remains eligible to play for Germany via his grandmother.

Hide AdWalters was recently praised by team mate Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was left stunned by his tenacity and strength. “I like so much centre-back Reuell,” the Ukraine international said. “I think the qualities he has, he is aggressive. I swear to God, one time he pushed Gabriel Jesus in a shoulder-to-shoulder. It is not easy to push Gabriel because he is very strong, and he was confident on the ball afterwards, he kept the ball well and passed. Wow. He impresses me I think the most.”
Last month, Rangers confirmed the arrival of Brazilian left-back Jefte on a four-year deal and veteran Leon Balogun has since agreed a one-year contract extension. Walters could also be brought on board, but the Light Blues are expected to face strong competition from clubs in France and Germany.
