Burns Night 2024 in Glasgow sees a whole myriad of events from Ceilidhs to Suppers - with free events on offer too!
Burns Night is nearly upon us Glasgow - the night when wild haggis descend from the Campsie Glens to the plates of good Glaswegians across the city - toast the bard in fashion this year with some of the best events in the city.
We put together this list to document what's going on in Glasgow to celebrate the life of Robert Burns - from Ceilidhs to murder mysteries to alternative takes on the classic Burns Night format - there's something for everyone in the city this January.
The Gannet is one of the most respected Scottish restaurants in Glasgow - having just turned 10 last September - where better to celebrate Burns Night?
10. Mharsanta
Priced at £41.50 per person, Mharsanta in the Merchant City are hosting a Burns Night event on January 26 from 7pm to 9pm. Included in the price is welcoming dram of Aberfeldy 12-year-old whisky and traditional 'Address to Haggis'. From the classic Haggis Neeps and Tatties to Haggis Pakora and vegan options too. Dessert includes traditional Cranachan and a vegan Chocolate Brownie.
11. Singl-end Garnethill
The cafe has two locations in the city having one in Merchant City as well as Garnethill. This year they're hosting Burns supper at their Garnethill branch, tickets cost £70 and between each of the courses host David, from Distilled Events, will talk through the history of whisky and how it makes the incredible journey from field to table as well as describing what it is like to live and work on a remote Hebridean island and to manage one of the largest malt whisky distilleries on the West coast of Scotland. The event goes down on January 26 from 7pm to 10:30pm.
12. Celtic Connections Burns Supper
Set in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museums main hall, Celtic Connections will be hosting their own Burns Supper on January 25 at 7.45pm. Your ticket also includes a traditional supper of haggis, neeps and tatties followed by cranachan, with a glass of wine and of course a dram from the home of Burns himself, Lochlea. It wouldn't be Celtic Connections wouldn't be what it is without the music, so of course live entertainment is provided with Fiona Hunter and Sean Gray amongst other special guests set to perform. Tickets cost £56pp.
