Philippe Clement takes charge of his first European fixture as Rangers manager when the Glasgow giants head to the Czech Republic for a crucial Europa League clash against Sparta Prague on Thursday.

The Gers took part in a morning training session on Wednesday before jetting out to the Czech capital from Glasgow Airport earlier this afternoon as they look to take a step closer to reaching the knockout rounds of the competition.

After opening their group stage campaign with a 1-0 victory over Spanish outfit Real Betis, the crisis-hit Light Blues then crashed to a disappointing 2-1 loss against Aris Limassol in Cyprus, just days after parting ways with former boss Michael Beale.

All four teams in Group C have three points on the board after two games, so a victory over Sparta Prague would put the Gers in a healthy position to advance from a tight section. The two sides clashed in this competition two seasons ago, with the Czech side securing a 1-0 victory during their previous encounter, although Rangers subsequently went on to reach the final.

The hosts - managed by Danish head coach Brian Priske - will prove a tough nut to crack after winning 10 and drawing two of their opening Czech First League to get their title defence off to a strong start. They will be full of confidence after strolling to a 4-0 win over SK Dynamo at the weekend.
